October entry.

another of many entries

-a thought-

it’s almost the end of October,

a lot happened (about 2 weeks ago), I ended up mentally drained,

and my bi-weekly schedule was interfered with.

it was for good reason though. an opportunity to see some lovely familiar faces presented itself, I just had to take it, and that brings me to what was on my mind at the time and also recently.

when I was younger -and extremely introverted- my mum would ALWAYS say to me, “chigo, no man is an island.” if I remember correctly, the first time she uttered those words to me my first thought was “well i’m not a man,” lol. then she explained what it meant and I was no longer flabbergasted by the “man” comment, but I digress.

well, I remembered this phrase because I was feeling low about the phase of my life that I am in right now -I keep referring to it as “a limbo phase”- and at the same time I talked myself into going to hangout with some friends. while we were catching up, playing ridiculous games and laughing away the time, I came around to the realization that introverted people really need their friends to help them get through life. because my actions that Sunday led to me having a nice busy week that got helped stay out of my head. wow an idle mind truly is the devil’s workshop and I am not referring to “freaky, sex-related things” because trust me self-doubt is more harmful to the mind. my reasoning is that it starts shit, and in a chain reaction of events self doubt would be the first step.

anyways, I won’t digress any further. I feel -and know- that I cannot be the only one going through this. so, I will say to my fellow introverts or less-outspoken colleagues, “the same way you talk yourself out of doing things also try to talk yourself into doing things; if you would like to be in your head less, then say yes to the company of good friends that make you remember that the weight of the world is definitely not on your shoulders.”
