best dressed at the oscars; according to me.

I contemplated making a TikTok post about this, but once I started recording myself I couldn't stop laughing so I took that as a sign to stick ton what I do best for now, which is writing on my blog and not talking on any social media platform yet. Plus I definitely have more freedom writing on here, because I can make my posts as long and as short as I want them to be.

Seeing Vogue’s best-dressed list for the 2022 Oscars attendees definitely led me to write this post. I had seen some TikTok ratings and reviews and I agreed with some of them, but then I saw the Vogue one, and the rest is why I’m here writing this.

So here are my top 10, and maybe more, best dressed attendees at the 2022 Oscars main event red carpet.

UGHH Nina Senicar in this Dolce & Gabbana dress? YES PLEASE! I am obsessed with everything cinched at the waist, like I should call it my signature look already. Once a look has a detail that really cinches the waist I become instantly in love with it, which is why most of the looks on this list have that detail to them. KEEP SCROLLING!

Jill Scott wearing custom Michael Costello. This dress is absolutely stunning, it’s an almost simple silhouette yet still very captivating.

Next up is Rachel Zegler in Dior Haute Couture. For events like this you simply can’t go wrong in Dior haute couture, they were made for them.

Now this next look I am very surprised that I really like it. Ruth E. Carter wearing Jovana Louis. It’s just so different from what every other person wore, but still very suited for the event. You could just feel her gracefulness through the screen from just looking at this picture.

Next up is Becky G in an Etro dress and a pair of Jimmy Choo platforms. Okay so here’s my deal about this look, I love the dress, which is why it’s on my list in the first place, the silhouette and the details drew me to it. But styled with a pair of platform heels?? I do not agree. Something flatter would have been best. Other than that I love the look because it was pulled off without making her look older than she is.

I know pink is the colour of youth, but this baby blue colour is definitely stealing that name. Kodie Smith-McPhee wears full Bottega Veneta accessorized with Cartier jewelry. He was definitely the best dressed male at the event because every other male dressed like they were part of the catering service - okay maybe just some - but definitely most of them.

Next up is another beautiful Dior dress. Stephanie Beatriz wears Dior Haute Couture, and just like I said “YOU CAN NEVER GO WRONG IN DIOR HAUTE COUTURE,” because she looks absolutely stunning.

Maggie Gyllenhaal in Schiaparelli Couture gown - LOVE LOVE LOVE the dress - but the whole look could have gone in a better direction. But the gown, yes, that’s why it’s on my list.

An Alaia dress needed to find its way to this red carpet, and I’m glad it did. Here’s Lisa Kebede in an Alaia dress.

If I had my way most of my dressed people would have been the very much older people, because I just loved how elegant they looked, but they’re not my target audience so I couldn't. However I had to have Ms Rita Moreno on my list because she just looked absolutely gorgeous in this Carolina Herrera dress, not acknowledging the headwear at all.

Another older person I had to put on my list, Sir Samuel L. Jackson. I just wanted him here, I like him and he looked great.

For the final look on my list, it’s another Carolina Herrera dress worn by Tracee Ellis Ross. Love the whole ensemble except the bust area, which should have definitely been designed a different way, or styled with a cropped baggy overcoat.

And that brings us to the end. Now I know I said this is my best-dressed list but still mentioned some flaws in some looks, well that’s because not every look is perfect in everyone’s eyes and that’s just the truth. These are the looks that really wowed me and that’s just my opinion.

Till next time!✌🏽
