behind the crafts[scenes].
Every fashion season I’m that person who looks beyond the luxury house itself and just search for the other people involved in a fashion show, and the making of the actual clothes in the collection. I’m always looking to highlight the people you wouldn’t know were involved unless you were the fashion house itself.
This haute couture season le Maison Schiaparelli collaborated with someone whose work I now find incredibly talented and beautiful. Looks 13, 14, 26, the look worn by the musician, Doja Cat , and probably more because I recently just found out about look 14, featured some exquisite beadwork and just some excellent display of craftsmanship in a whole. I am naturally drawn to any piece of clothing or design that involves the application of fine beadwork, because the entire craftsmanship of using beads to make anything has always fascinated me. So naturally I went searching and I definitely found out what I was looking for and more.
RUNWAY LOOKS.
DOJA CAT’S LOOK.
Local Parisian business, KNITWEAR STUDIO Cecile Feilchenfeldt owned by, I assume, Clémentine Udron, because it’s the name I see tagged along on the instagram page of the business. Anyways both the business and the person are the ones behind the beaded craftsmanship. I need to denormalize myself from thinking that every brand or business I am coming across in my adult life is new, or just started out recently, because once I visited the instagram page of this Parisian business, I was amazed and surprised by the other works they have done for another big fashion house that they collaborated with; brands like Balmain, Louis Vuitton, and Balenciaga. I also found out they have been collaborating with the house of Schiaparelli since before its creative director role was appointed to Daniel Roseberry.
Anyways the aim of this post was basically to bring your attention to the fact that there are so many crew members behind the scenes that are part of the crucial success of a collection presented during the highly anticipated fashion week seasons. I myself, am just getting more immersed into the high fashion space and i’m sure there are people in the same age group as me, now young adults, getting into this space. So, I hope to find more and highlight them in future posts,
…till next time.✌🏽
