on October 3rd he asked me what the inspo behind my outfit was
The day was October 3rd 2022, the outfit inspiration came from the need to just wear a skirt, maybe one last time, before the early autumn snow starts to fall in our beloved city of Winnipeg.
The Top
A turtle-neck long sleeve top, purchased almost 3 years ago, was the clothing piece I had in mind to wear the skirt with and thankfully when I tried both of them on together, it was a match made in heaven.
THE SKIRT
At first I wanted to go with a much shorter top, but with the maxi length of the skirt, which you wouldn’t notice till you saw the backside of the skirt, the mid length of this long sleeved top was perfectly complemented. The elasticity in the top makes it that with any sudden movement its length becomes shortened, which is why I believe it to be a perfect fit for the skirt, in place of a cropped blouse. The skirt was definitely the piece I was building the outfit on, so there isn’t much to talk on there. But I will say it was one of the two choices of skirts I wanted to wear that day, and I chose this one because it was the most sturdy out of the two.
THE BOOTS, THE ACCESSORIES & THE BAG
I have worn turtlenecks in all my years as a conscious teen and adult, which haven't been much tbh, and never did it occur to me to accessorize turtlenecks with a bondage vibe in mind. Once I wrapped the long silver jewelry twice around my neck with the other end dangling down I got an idea to just hook the short end to the long end, and I immediately knew it was the vibe I wanted. It kind of reminded me of the Versace bonded dress designs, and I couldn't help feeling like a Versace model-off-duty as I attended my classes that day. Then I added some more extra silver accessories, which included a dainty necklace and some rings, to finish up that aspect of the look.
To pull the whole look together I finished it up by wearing a pair of black boots with some silver detailing and a bag with an added long sling for a more laidback bohemian vibe.
