the callous igbo girl gets baffled.
do you know what baffles me, the fact that there was this narrative everyone had that, because you have this one particular job you can’t do other things. I mean I think this narrative is still around, but I hopefully doubt it’s not as dominant as it used to be because I just feel everyone is now all about multiple streams of income despite whatever, or they just want to be involved in everything. This has always been something I would think about but I mostly remembered it because I’m watching that episode of sex and the city where carrie gets invited to walk in a fashion show but she’s very reluctant and uninterested and her reason really baffles me. she didn’t want to walk on the fashion runway because she didn't see what sense it would make for a “writer” to walk down the runway modelling clothes. I mean how did her mind even get to that😂. I know it's a result of the way most people were brought up back then, but honestly it truly baffles me. in fact, someone in our present day, Brenda Weischer aka brendahashtag, actually had a similar situation to the one carrie had in this episode, she is a writer who actually walked in a fashion show this year. I wouldn't want to call it a “carrie Bradshaw moment” because it’s just to generic for Brenda, and I do wonder if she realized it too -assuming she has watched sex and the city-. But Brenda is indeed a writer [fashion journalist], and she did in fact walk in a fashion show, so I wonder if she thought to herself when she was asked if it was deemed unworthy for writers to walk in fashion shows by society😂? I honestly doubt she did, but that whole narrative truly baffles me.
